About Us
St. Brendan’s GAA have been promoting Gaelic football in Manchester since 1959. The club has a proud history and tradition of producing competitive teams within Lancashire that has managed to win numerous trophies including 18 Senior Football Championships. The club competes at senior, junior and underage levels.
In March 2009 the club celebrated its 50th Anniversary with a superb Dinner Dance with over 750 people in attendance, including Uachtaran-Tofa Cumann Luthchleas Gael Christy Cooney at The Palace Hotel Manchester. The club also published ’50 years of St. Brendan’s Manchester’ a book that commemorates the history and the successes the club has enjoyed over the last half century.
At the beginning of 2009 the club decided to compete at senior level again. This proved to be a huge success with the senior team winning promotion to the Pennine League Division 1 and also The Wolfe Tone Cup by beating Lancashire Senior Championship finalists St. Peter’s on both occasions.
The club now looks forward to the 2010 season and aims to progress further. So if you are interested in playing for an ambitious and sociable club please get in contact with the club via our Guestbook or our contacts below.
